Seaweed Squad
See the crew....

Chief Horticultural Officer
Toby “Full steam ahead” Young
Sussex man Toby, studied a Level 3 Advanced Technical Extended Diploma in Horticulture at Plumpton College and won the Academic Achievement Award, the David Blackmur Cup.

After graduating, whilst working for Worthing Borough Council at Highdown Gardens, he became obsessed with seaweed.

He collected drift seaweed, cast-upon the strand line from the beach nearby, took it up the hill and soaked it in water to make liquid seaweed feed. This exquisite elixir helped nourish the plants and soil of the gardens he tended.

He enlisted in the Seaweed Squad to help others understand the vital importance of this natural resource, and spread the message that seaweed can help us, in the fight against the negative impact climate change has on our natural environment.

Chief Technical Officer
Matthew “We need more power, C’ptn!” Edbrooke
Matt has always had a natural digital talent and has surfed since the early net. This skill has grown in time from creating d’n’b music on Macs, to now running a successful Apple reseller and support business, Fixio, in Brighton and beyond.

Born and bred by the sea in Hastings, East Sussex, Matt is a crafty sea-kayaker and has been resident in the seaside town of Worthing for many years, over that time his love of the sea has only swelled.

A desire to give something back to his coastal community, pressed him into doing something. So when the idea of joining Seaweed Guy was floated to him, he came onboard to build this lovely webship.

Chief Financial Officer

Cameron “Raise the mainsail!” McIvor

Cam loves the great outdoors as well as big business. He’s a multiskilled shipmate who’s background includes running his own Garden Landscaping business to now trading global financial markets and investing in stocks and shares.

Cam grew up by the sea in Worthing and has fished these shores since he were a lad. Over time he has fallen deeply in love with the salty sea air and fresh beach life. So for him creating a community interest company to benefit the environment and local economy, was a gale-force no-brainer.

He says, "do you Seaweed Guy CIC?"
You say, "Yes Sir! Seaweed Guy sea, I see!"

As a member of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture, Toby is Seaweed Squads leading light in all things plants and he helps to navigate the good ship Seaweed.

Matt keeps the ship on an even keel and will ‘Fixio’ any technical problems whilst she sails!
