What is Seaweed Guy CIC?
Seaweed Guy is a Community Interest Company who make plant fertiliser from seaweed. Their sole purpose is to serve the community and benefit the natural environment (not for profit).
Why do Seaweed Guy do their thing?
Seaweed Guy’s mission is to bring about sea-change in our relation between sea and soil.
How will Seaweed Guy surf their goals?
Seaweed is 100% organic and contains alginate which conditions soil superbly.
It helps soil to breathe, hold and drain moisture, as well as boost plant roots to absorb water and nutrients.
Where is Seaweed Guy?
Seaweed Guy washed ashore in Worthing, West Sussex but his fronds reach far and wide.

About us...
Seastainability!
We are permitted by Sussex IFCA, under the Hand Gathering Byelaw 2021, to collect limited amounts of drift seaweed cast upon the strand line.
The byelaw was passed to protect sensitive species and fragile ecosystems, by setting clear limits on what, where and how marine life can be collected.

Fronds of
the Family...
Sussex Underwater
Sussex Underwater’s coastal queen, Catrine, has swum aside Seaweed Guy all the way, describing Seaweed Guy as ‘the missing link’ in the great kelp recovery project.
Her support, advice and guidance has been invaluable, thanks Catrine!

PEP the Printers
When you’re as buff as Seaweed Guy you need your pictures to look sick. So he insists his image is recreated using only the finest printing inks and papers - and knows that PEP4Print are the guys to make his colours POP!

Worthing Community Chest
There be treasure in Worthing - but fear not, you don’t have to dive to Davy Jones locker to get it! If you’ve an idea to start a community group, like Seaweed Guy did, then apply to the good people at WCC, and they will help you to pass Go, collect £250 and grow!

SUSSEX IFCA
You can gather a 5kg bag to make your own seaweed feed, but there are daily collection limits. There is a permit system for commercial gathering, to which Seaweed Guy was issued the 1st! Mucilaginous thanks to Alberto and the IFCA gang for all their kelp and support.
